Periods 1, 3, 4, 5, 7
1. Word wall
2. vocab quiz
3. "How to" write a summary
You will now teach the students in Ms. Brady’s class the proper way to write a summary. You will explain to them each and everything required to write a summary. Write this in ‘how to’ form.
First, you XXXX
Second, you XXXX
I will give her students what you have written and they will attempt to write a summary. They will then answer a set of questions based on what you have written. You will lose points for whatever you forget to include.
Things to include:
1. The summary should be as long as there are paragraphs in the story. If there are 15 paragraphs in the story, then the summary should be 15 sentences long
2. Be sure that the target gets put in the margin and is only 1-4 words
3. Be sure to underline the subject and the verb. EXPLAIN HOW TO FIGURE OUT THE SUBJECT AND HOW TO FIGURE OUT THE VERB
